Unfortunately, the teen was caught the day before he was set to testify. Meanwhile, the homesick Alex is promptly caught, killed, and hanged just like his brother after he returns to Mexico.

Learn More About Alex Hodoyan

Alex Hodoyan’s character is based on a real-life person of the same name. Alex was born as the eldest son to a middle-class family in Tijuana, Mexico.

Alex had disappeared in the mid-1990s in front of his family. In fact, he was arrested in Guadalajara for having connections to the Arellano-Felix cartel of Tijuana.

His captors in the Mexican military had brutally tortured in a unit controlled by General Gutierrez Rebollo.

He had confessed to being involved in the Arellano-Felix cartel, and the confession was videotaped.

He has spent many months in confinement and subjected to torture.

Alex’s arrest story is recorded by PBS Frontline that gives more insights into “the Junior.”

“The Juniors’ were a group of Tijuana children from middle and upper-class families who became friends with one of the Arellano-Felix brothers, Ramon, during the 1980s.

These people were mostly in their teens and early 20s. They used to party in Tijuana discos, where they were recruited into working for the Arellano-Felix brothers in the drug trade.

Those young men and women had joined the cartel not to become wealthy but for the essence of “la Fama,” the fame of being involved with gangsters.

Alex and Alfredo’s juniors are now mostly either in jail, missing, dead reports the same portal mentioned above.
